Baked Beans

This recipe comes from Bessie B! These are delicious on their own with some nice bread, or as a yummy side dish! They smell amazing while cooking, and they come out nice and tender! You'll definitely want to go for seconds!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of yellow-eyed beans
  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar (more if desired)
  • 3 tbsp of molasses
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp of ginger
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp of ketchup OR 1 can of diced tomatoes

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Soak beans overnight
  2. Rinse and cook for one hour or until tender
  3. Mix in all other ingredients with the beans
  4. Add water to cover the beans
  5. Cook on LOW in a slow cooker for 8 hours
  6. Enjoy!
